Kingston Technology announces leadership change in Mexico

Kingston Technology has announced a leadership transition in Mexico. Cristina Carbajal will step down as General Manager in the coming weeks to pursue a personal project. She will be succeeded by Ivette Barragán, who previously served as the company’s regional sales manager for eTail. Óscar Martínez, Regional Director for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, will oversee the transition to ensure business continuity.

In the cybersecurity sector, Proofpoint has introduced the Proofpoint Agentic Data and AI Security system. This tool is designed to protect artificial intelligence and data by unifying the detection of sensitive data with the analysis of an agent's intent, addressing emerging risks from both human activity and AI agents.

In Chile and Peru, discussions regarding cybersecurity have intensified due to the rapid advancement of AI and potential delays in the Personal Data Protection Law. Experts emphasize that security must move beyond software encryption to include hardware-based encryption in devices like SSDs and flash drives to neutralize hacking attempts even when software is compromised.
