Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union hosts business recordkeeping workshop

Forty members of the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union (KCCU) participated in a one-day workshop titled ‘An Introduction to Recordkeeping: Why It Matters and How to Do It Right’ in Kingstown. The session, delivered by the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED), focused on strengthening business recordkeeping skills to support better decision-making and facilitate access to financing.

The training covered essential topics including the requirements for obtaining debt financing, various small business funding sources, and the creation of simple recordkeeping systems. Participants also learned to interpret financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Joslyn Craigg, Chairman of the KCCU Education and Marketing Committee, stated that the initiative aims to equip Vincentians with practical skills to support business growth and sustainability. Keisha Phillips, CED Officer in Charge, noted that the goal was to demonstrate practical ways to use records as useful tools for business management.
