Kinmen hosts dementia awareness event to build friendly communities

The 2026 RUN伴TAIWAN Kinmen event was held on September 12 to promote dementia awareness and foster dementia-friendly communities. Organized by the Taiwan Home Care Service Strategy Alliance and the Aifu Family Association, the initiative encourages people to “see, understand, and accompany” those living with dementia.

The event combined physical activity with cultural experiences, leading participants to the Kinmen County Museum for guided tours. Local government officials from Kinmen emphasized the importance of community interaction and safety measures, particularly regarding the prevention of elderly wanderings. The program aimed to integrate dementia support into daily life and public cultural spaces to ensure seniors can live safely and healthily within their familiar communities.
