Kinmen special ferry service to sail as scheduled for Mid-Autumn Festival

The Kinmen County Government has confirmed that the special ferry service between Taichung and Kinmen for the Mid-Autumn Festival will proceed as scheduled on September 24. The outbound trip is set to depart from Taichung Port at 23:30 on September 24, arriving at Kinmen's Shuitou Port at 10:30 the following morning.

The return trip is scheduled to depart from Shuitou Port at 12:00 on September 28, arriving at Taichung Port at 23:00. While the schedule remains unchanged, officials noted that potential tropical depressions around September 28 could impact sea conditions. The government will monitor weather and maritime safety closely and may adjust the schedule, including potentially departing one day early, if necessary.

As of the latest report, 437 passengers have registered for the service, with 244 traveling from Taichung to Kinmen and 193 returning. Unlike previous holiday services that docked at Liaolo Port, this trip will utilize the Kinmen Port Travel Center to accommodate logistics and port operations. Passengers are advised that the journey takes approximately 11 hours and are encouraged to prepare food, water, and necessary medications for the long trip.
