Kinnikuman's Meaty character song 'Check! Me' released after 30 years

A new character song titled "Check! Me" for the anime Kinnikuman’s side‑kick Meaty was released on July 29, marking the first solo song for the character in roughly three decades. The track is performed by Sumire Uesaka, the voice actor for Meaty, who explained in an interview that she blended the original early‑series feel with the more mature tone of the current show.

The release is the first in a planned series of monthly character songs slated for the 29th of each month, part of the “Perfect Superhuman Origin” arc. Kinnikuman, created by Yudetamago, has sold over 77 million copies worldwide, making the song a notable event for long‑time fans.

Uesaka highlighted specific comedic lines and callbacks from the manga, noting the involvement of composer APazzz, who infused the track with both nostalgic and modern musical elements.
