Kino Fest 2026 promotes tourism and economy in Sonora

The Kino Fest 2026 gastronomic showcase in Bahía de Kino, Sonora, drew more than two thousand attendees, aiming to strengthen the local coastal economy and tourism. The event featured over 20 culinary stands showcasing regional flavors and seafood.

During the festival, Hermosillo Municipal President Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez and his wife, Patricia Ruibal, presided over the first-ever mixology competition using Bacanora. This competition featured innovative beverage creations from university students representing institutions such as UVM, Universidad Durango Santander, and Universidad Vizcaya de las Américas, with the latter emerging as winners.

Fernanda Cisneros Rodríguez, Director of Tourism Development for the Municipal Economic Development Agency, noted that the event aligns with municipal goals to foster economic growth through active participation from the youth and local businesses.
