Javier Bardem film ‘The Beloved’ secures North American distribution

Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s new film, ‘The Beloved’ (El ser querido), has secured North American distribution through Kino Lorber. The drama, which premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, stars Academy Award winner Javier Bardem and Victoria Luengo.

The film explores the complex relationship between a renowned film director and his estranged daughter, an actress. Following its Spanish theatrical release on August 26, the film is scheduled to make its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Kino Lorber plans a theatrical release in the United States and Canada in early 2027, accompanied by an awards campaign for Bardem. The production, originally from Movistar Plus, was negotiated by Goodfellas and Kino Lorber.
