Kino Światowid named best cinema in Poland at PISF Awards

Kino Światowid in Katowice has been named the best cinema in Poland at the 18th edition of the Polish Film Institute (PISF) Awards. The ceremony took place on September 23, 2026, in Gdynia, held in conjunction with the 51st Gdynia Film Festival.

Światowid secured the title by winning the cinema category, surpassing Kino Pałacowe in Poznań and Kino Przystań in Pszczew. Winners of the PISF Awards receive a statue designed by Xawery Deskur and a financial prize of 15,000 PLN. The awards, which have been presented since 2008, recognize individuals and institutions that promote film art rather than those directly involved in film production.
