Kinoteka na Makedonija announces October film program

The Kinoteka na Makedonija has announced its October program, which focuses on significant anniversaries within Macedonian cinema. The selection serves as a cinematic archive, revisiting films that document the history, societies, and ideologies of the eras in which they were produced.

Key highlights include the 60th anniversary of Živorad Žika Mitrović’s ‘Do pobedata i nea’ (1966), which explores the occupation and liberation of a Macedonian city. The program also features the 55th anniversary of Vatroslav Mimica’s ‘Makedonski del od pekolot’ (1971), a film reconstructing the atmosphere of World War II occupation and repression. Additionally, the 50th anniversary of Branko Gapo’s ‘Najdolgiot pat’ (1976) will be celebrated, a film based on true events and motifs from the work of Petre M. Andreevski.
