Kinshasa and Marseille seek to strengthen cooperation
Kinshasa Governor Daniel Bumba Lubaki and André Mbata, permanent secretary of the Union sacrée de la Nation, are discussing enhanced cooperation between Kinshasa and Marseille. Following a parliamentary mission to Marseille, Mbata indicated that authorities in the French city are willing to deepen relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo's capital.
The proposed partnership aims to cover strategic sectors including the economy, culture, infrastructure, urban road networks, and port activities. The initiative seeks to leverage Marseille's experience as an international metropolis to support Kinshasa's transformation.
Discussions also highlighted current efforts to modernize Kinshasa's road infrastructure. Mbata noted the progress made in road construction and rehabilitation, citing 185 kilometers of roadwork completed over the last two years.
