Kinshasa journalists trained on inclusive sexual health reporting for the deaf

In Kinshasa, the Centre de production des codes femmes et supports de sensibilisation (CPPS-RDC) held a training workshop for journalists and media professionals on August 27 and 28, 2026. The sessions focused on the inclusion of deaf women and youth in media coverage regarding sexual and reproductive health (SRH).

Funded by AmplifyChange under the ‘Biso pe tozali’ project, the workshop aimed to improve access to sexual and reproductive rights for deaf populations. Participants engaged in discussions regarding deaf culture, barriers to information access, and inclusive journalism principles. The training included practical exercises in reporting, interviewing, and creating accessible content, with sign language interpretation provided during the sessions.
