Kioxia announces new enterprise SSD series for data centers
Kioxia has introduced two new enterprise SSD series designed to meet the increasing storage and cooling demands of hyperscale data centers and AI applications.
The KIOXIA CM9 series features direct liquid cooling (DLC) compatibility, utilizing 8th generation BiCS FLASH TLC memory. Designed for cold plate servers, these drives aim to improve energy efficiency and cooling capacity compared to traditional air-cooled systems. The series includes read-intensive (up to 30.72TB) and mixed-use (up to 25.6TB) models, supporting PCIe 5.0 and NVMe 2.0 standards.
Additionally, the Kioxia LD4 series utilizes 8th generation BiCS FLASH QLC memory in the E1.L form factor. These high-density drives are optimized for 1U servers and read-intensive storage, offering capacities of 15.36TB and 30.72TB, with a validated architecture capable of reaching up to 122.88TB. The LD4 series supports PCIe 5.0 and the Open Compute Project (OCP) datacenter NVMe SSD specification v2.6.
