Kioxia expands PCIe 5.0 SSD lineup with Exceria Pro and Plus models

Kioxia, formerly Toshiba Memory, is expanding its high-performance storage offerings with new PCIe 5.0 SSDs. The high-end Exceria Pro G2 features a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller, 2 GB of LPDDR4X-4266 DRAM, and Kioxia BiCS8 218-layer TLC NAND. This model offers read speeds up to 14,900 MB/s and write speeds up to 13,400 MB/s.

In the mid-range segment, the Exceria Plus G4 utilizes a Phison PS5031-E31T controller and Kioxia BiCS8 TLC flash. Unlike the Pro model, the Plus G4 lacks a dedicated DRAM cache, instead utilizing the system’s Host Memory Buffer (HMB). The 2-TB version of the Plus G4 provides read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and write speeds of 8,200 MB/s, while the 1-TB version offers up to 7,900 MB/s write speeds. Both models are available in M.2 2280 form factors and include a five-year warranty.
