Kioxia launches CM10 PCIe 6.0 enterprise SSD series for AI workloads
Kioxia America announced the CM10 Series, its first enterprise solid‑state drive using the PCIe 6.0 interface. The drives target AI inference and key‑value cache workloads and are designed to work with NVIDIA’s CMX context‑memory solution. Capacity options range from 1.6 TB to 61.44 TB, with read‑intensive (1 DWPD) and mixed‑use (3 DWPD) endurance variants. Compared with the prior CM9 generation, the CM10 delivers roughly 92 % higher sequential read speed and about 85 % higher random read speed. The series is offered in E3.S, E1.S and 2.5‑inch form factors and includes direct‑cold‑plate liquid‑cooling capability for the E3.S and E1.S models.
Kioxia Europe also unveiled UFS 5.0 embedded flash memory devices aimed at AI‑enabled mobile and edge products. The new modules, available in 1 TB and 512 GB capacities, use BiCS FLASH generation 8 3D NAND and a proprietary UFS 5.0 controller. They achieve up to 10 GB/s sequential read and 9 GB/s sequential write performance, with improved power efficiency and a compact 7.5 × 13 mm BGA package. Mass production is slated for the end of 2026.
