Kiphire digital education project LEAP concludes
The Kiphire District Administration and NagaEd have completed the Learning Enhancement and Accessibility Project (LEAP), a three-year digital education initiative. Implemented under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme, the project targeted gaps in digital infrastructure, teacher capacity, and resource access across 15 schools in the Kiphire district.
The initiative reached over 1,200 students and 35 Mathematics and Science teachers. Participating schools, including nine government and six private institutions, were equipped with Smart TVs, connectivity solutions, and access to NagaEd’s Digital Class platform. To mitigate issues with unreliable power and connectivity, the project provided offline resources such as video lessons and practice materials via pen drives.
Project reports indicate significant impact: 96% of participating teachers reported regular use of digital learning resources, and 91% stated the initiative improved education quality. Teachers also reported increased confidence in using digital tools, with an average self-rating of 8.3 out of 10. While the formal project has concluded, teachers will retain free access to NagaEd’s Digital Class platform.
