Kipi Border Station: Greek industry groups demand action on customs delays

The Association of Exporters (SEVE) and the Hellenic Federation of Industries (SVE) have issued a joint appeal for urgent intervention to address severe delays at the Kipi Border Station and Customs.

According to the organizations, the situation has worsened significantly over the past three to four weeks. In some instances, the time required for the transport and delivery of goods has reached five to six days. Additionally, the number of trucks being processed daily on the Greek side has reportedly seen a substantial decrease.

These delays are impacting supply chains, increasing operational and transport costs, and undermining the competitiveness of Greek businesses. The associations expressed particular concern regarding perishable and sensitive cargo, requesting that these shipments be given priority processing where feasible.

To resolve these long-standing issues, SEVE and SVE are calling for the accelerated completion of ongoing infrastructure projects at the Kipi station, which serves as a vital gateway for trade between Greece and Turkey and for broader international road transport.
