Germany reports two violent knife attacks in Marsberg and Kirberg

Germany has seen two separate violent incidents involving knives.

In Marsberg, a 15-year-old boy died following a knife attack during a dispute. Two suspects, aged 22 and 23, were initially the subject of a nationwide manhunt but have since surrendered to the police. An 18-year-old was also seriously injured in the incident.

In Kirberg, a 50-year-old man attacked his estranged wife with a kitchen knife inside a bakery. The woman suffered serious injuries but managed to flee the building. Bystanders intervened to stop the assault, using items such as a rolling pin and a sign to defend the victim. The suspect was also injured during the intervention and was taken to a hospital by helicopter. Authorities are investigating the incident as attempted murder.
