Kirby Dach faces potential trade rumors in Montreal

Kirby Dach is facing increasing pressure in Montreal following a slow start to the season. Through eight games, the Montreal Canadiens forward has recorded only one assist, zero goals, and a -4 plus-minus rating.

Analyst Marco D’Amico suggests that Dach may eventually be traded to help the Canadiens clear salary cap space. Dach is currently in the final year of his contract, earning $3.6 million. The potential for a trade is heightened by the emergence of other players and the expected return of Ivan Demidov to the lineup.

Competition for roster spots is intensifying. While Owen Beck was recently scratched from the lineup, D’Amico noted that Beck showed more promise in two games than Dach has in the current season. Additionally, the strong performance of Alexandre Texier and the potential return of the injured Florian Xhekaj further complicate Dach’s position within the team.
