Kirby Dach trade rumors link Montreal Canadiens to Edmonton Oilers

Speculation regarding Montreal Canadiens center Kirby Dach has intensified, with rumors linking him to teams in Western Canada, specifically the Edmonton Oilers. Analysts suggest that Montreal’s roster depth at forward may provide the flexibility to move Dach, especially as teams in the West seek roster adjustments.

One proposed trade scenario involves the Canadiens sending Dach to the Oilers with 50 percent of his salary retained, along with a 2028 second-round draft pick. In exchange, the Oilers would provide Isaac Howard, Quinn Hutson, and a 2028 third-round draft pick. Such a move would allow the Oilers to acquire a center to reunite Dach with his brother, Colton, while providing Montreal with young talent and draft assets.
