Kirche am Widey installs new CODA Audio system after flood damage

The Kirche am Widey in Hagen, part of the Evangelisch-Freikirchliche Gemeinde Hagen, has completed a major renovation of its sound system and room acoustics following extensive damage caused by the 2021 floods. The flooding necessitated the complete renewal of the community center's ceilings, walls, and floors.

Ton & Technik Scheffe from Nümbrecht managed the planning and installation. The new audio setup utilizes CODA Audio systems, including N-APS series Arrayable Point Sources, HOPS8i, D5-Cube, N-SUB, and G15-SUB, powered by LINUS6 4i amplifiers.

The project focused on maximizing speech intelligibility within the high-ceilinged hall, which previously suffered from long reverberation times. The new system is designed to support diverse musical needs—including choirs, organs, and bands—while remaining simple enough for volunteers to operate.
