Kiren Rijiju accuses Congress of spreading fake AI video regarding China
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has accused the Congress party of engaging in a “treacherous act” by spreading a fake AI-generated video concerning China and Arunachal Pradesh. The video, which was reportedly posted on X by a Congress leader from Bihar, uses digitally altered footage to falsely claim that a senior Indian Army officer, Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, admitted that China has seized parts of Arunachal Pradesh, including the Asafil, Longju, and Taksing circles.
The video also falsely alleges that the Indian Army is being denied essential supplies. The Indian Army’s official ‘Indian Army Fact Check’ handle has debunked the video, labeling it as a “fabricated” and “digitally altered” piece of misinformation designed to present made-up statements as leaked confessions from a senior officer.
Rijiju, who is a Member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh, demanded that the Congress party apologize to the nation, stating that spreading such propaganda serves the interests of India’s enemies and aims to damage the image of the Indian Army.
