BJP launches nationwide Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao campaign

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a nationwide campaign titled ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) through various padyatras (foot marches) across India. The campaign serves as a counter-response to allegations by the Congress-led INDIA bloc regarding electoral roll irregularities and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

In Mumbai, Union Minister Piyush Goyal accused Congress leaders of spreading false propaganda. In Faridabad, BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan alleged that the Congress has lost faith in democratic institutions, including the Election Commission. Similarly, in Rohtak, BJP National President Nitin Nabin criticized the opposition for targeting constitutional bodies due to their lack of a public mandate.

In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accused the Congress of having committed ‘Samvidhan chori’ (theft of the Constitution) during the Emergency era. Meanwhile, in Rewa, party leaders held meetings to discuss the campaign's organizational strategy and public outreach.

In response, senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala characterized the upcoming opposition mobilization as a struggle to protect the Constitution and the right to vote, alleging that the Modi government is undermining democratic safeguards.
