Kiren Rijiju leads Indian delegation to NAM meeting in Belgrade
Indian Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, to lead the Indian delegation at a high-level commemorative meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The meeting, held from August 31 to September 1, marks the 65th anniversary of the first NAM conference held in Belgrade in 1961. The theme for this year’s gathering is ‘The Legacy of Non-Alignment: Lessons for Today’s World.’
Prior to the meeting, Rijiju visited the Museum of Yugoslavia and the House of Flowers, the mausoleum of former Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, to reflect on the region’s political history and cultural heritage. He also paid floral tributes at a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Belgrade. Additionally, Rijiju met with members of the Indian community in Serbia to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between India and Serbia.
