Kiren Rijiju warns after Indian flag desecration in New York

Indian Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has issued a stern warning following reports of the Indian national flag being desecrated during protests in New York. The incident occurred outside Madison Square Garden, where RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was addressing a ‘Universal Oneness Celebration’ attended by over 6,000 Indian-Americans and various religious leaders.

Sharing video footage of the incident on social media, Rijiju stated that while individuals have the freedom to criticize the RSS, BJP, or the government, insulting the national flag and the country would ‘come at a very high cost.’ The footage reportedly shows protesters disrespecting the tricolor and shouting Khalistan-related slogans.

During his address at the Infosys Theater, Mohan Bhagwat spoke about embracing diversity, noting that unity in diversity is part of India’s DNA. Despite opposition from certain groups and local political figures, the event proceeded with participation from various religious leaders, including rabbis and imams.
