Kiril Despodov and PAOK in contract renewal negotiations

Bulgarian winger Kiril Despodov and the Greek football club PAOK Thessaloniki are working toward a contract renewal, according to Greek media reports. While both parties have reportedly reached an agreement on financial terms, a disagreement remains regarding the duration of the new deal.

Despodov is seeking a two-year contract to ensure future stability. In contrast, PAOK is considering a 1+1 year arrangement to maintain greater flexibility. The club has indicated that any extension for the second year would require mutual consent rather than being a unilateral option for the club.

The 29-year-old player has been with PAOK since the summer of 2023 and has played a significant role in the team's offensive efforts. Despodov is currently working to recover from a recent injury following surgery on his right big toe to return to training under coach Alessio Lisi.
