Kiril M. Petreski, Macedonian director and playwright, dies

Macedonian director and playwright Kiril M. Petreski (1971–2026) has passed away. He was a long-standing member of the Vojdan Chernodrinski Theatre in Prilep, where he served as a director and dramaturg since 2013.

Petreski graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. Throughout his career, he directed numerous notable productions, including works by Harold Pinter, Bernard-Marie Koltès, and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. His work spanned several institutions, including the Trajko Prokopiov Theatre in Kumanovo and the Grigor Prlichev Theatre in Ohrid. He also participated in the Vojdan Chernodrinski Macedonian Theatre Festival with his production ‘The Fourth Sister’.
