Agent Dan Milstein dismissed recent speculation that Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko is the subject of a trade with the Montreal Canadiens, writing on X that reporters should "go back to your vacation." Milstein’s comment came after reports suggested a complex three‑team deal involving the Canadiens.

Marchenko, 26, finished the 2025‑26 season with 27 goals and 67 points in 76 games and is entering the final year of a three‑year contract that carries a $3.85 million cap hit. He will become a restricted free agent after the season. Columbus general manager Don Waddell has indicated Marchenko will start the season in Columbus, and the team has not confirmed any trade discussions.

Despite the denial, analysts continue to link Marchenko to both Montreal and the New Jersey Devils.
