Kirk Franklin announces new double album returning to gospel roots

Gospel artist Kirk Franklin is releasing a new double album that marks a return to his traditional church-centered musical roots. The project, which includes a mix of studio tracks and live church recordings, represents his longest creative process since his debut, spanning approximately 1.5 years.

During an appearance on ‘Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell’, Franklin discussed his new single, ‘Thank You for Everything’, featuring Karen Clark Sheard. He described the sound as a return to the style of his early career, noting that while he has previously focused on contemporary crossover hits, this new work embraces a live choir-driven approach.

Franklin expressed that the decision to return to a more traditional sound involved trepidation, as he questioned how modern audiences would receive traditional church music in a changing market.
