Kirklees and Enfield Honor Carers at Community Awards

In Kirklees, the fifth annual Caremark Carer of the Year ceremony recognised almost 90 carers, the highest number in the event’s history. Mayor Karen Allison presented the awards and highlighted the dedication of staff, with Komal Rizwan receiving the overall Carer of the Year award after earning a record 12 nominations.

In Enfield, the council hosted a Foster Carers Celebration to thank long‑term foster parents who have each cared for children for more than 20 years. Mayor Emma Supple and representatives from the Foster Carers Association spoke, noting the carers’ combined 102 years of service and the vital role they play in keeping children safe and stable in the borough.
