Kirsten Storms Departs General Hospital After 21‑Year Role

Actress Kirsten Storms left the ABC daytime drama “General Hospital,” with her long‑running character Maxie Jones written off in the July 23 episode. The storyline sent Maxie, husband Damian Spinelli and their children to Australia, and Maxie transferred her Deception Cosmetics shares to Michael Corinthos before exiting.

Storms’ departure follows a tumultuous period that included brain surgery for an aneurysm in 2025 (after a 2021 craniotomy), a restraining order filed by ex‑husband Brandon Barash in April 2026, and a custody dispute over their daughter Harper Rose. Citing health concerns and a desire to settle in Tennessee, Storms indicated she will not return to the series.

The exit provides closure for fans of one of the show’s longest‑running legacy characters, while Storms transitions away from acting to focus on her personal health and family matters.
