Kisela Voda Municipal Council session erupts in heated confrontation
A heated confrontation occurred during a session of the Kisela Voda Municipal Council in Skopje, involving mutual accusations of threats, insults, and provocations between local officials and a representative from the Levica party.
The dispute escalated between Council President Svetlana Kolarić, Mayor Betty Stamenkoska Trajkoska, and Levica councilor Petar Zdravevski. Kolarić requested security intervention to remove Zdravevski from the hall following allegations of verbal threats and disruptive behavior. Mayor Stamenkoska Trajkoska accused the councilor of using intimidation tactics, while Zdravevski denied all allegations of threats, accusing the leadership of personal attacks and manipulating the public.
Levica has criticized the Council President’s actions as anti-democratic, claiming that security was used to silence a political opponent rather than maintain order. The party further alleged that majority members interrupted their representatives and brought family matters into the political debate.
