Kiseljak parish celebrates 150th anniversary with church consecration

The St. Elijah the Prophet Parish in Kiseljak celebrated its 150th anniversary with a major religious ceremony, including the formal consecration of the parish church and altar. The event was led by Archbishop and Metropolitan Mons. Tomo Vukšić, with participation from Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Military Bishop Mons. Miro Relota, and Franciscan Provincial Fra Zdravko Dadić.

During the ceremony, relics of martyrs from Roman catacombs were embedded into the new stone altar. The jubilee brought together approximately 5,000 believers and various political and social leaders, including Dragan Čović, Darijana Filipović, Marinko Čavara, and Lidija Bradara.

Founded in 1876, the parish has grown from 768 believers to approximately 5,000 today, making it one of the few growing parishes within the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna.
