Kishiwada to host new ramen shop IRIKO to promote Osaka fishing

A new ramen restaurant named IRIKO is scheduled to open on October 31, 2026, in Jizohama, Kishiwada, Osaka. The establishment is a collaborative project involving Ebisu Maru Foods and Ellange Co., Ltd., aimed at promoting the local fishing industry and the bounty of Osaka Bay.

The restaurant will utilize fish caught by the operators themselves to create specialty dishes, such as IRIKO ramen and IRIKO oil noodles. The signature golden broth is made by soaking dried sardines (iriko) for an entire day to extract deep flavor without using animal fats, resulting in a light and healthy soup.

Beyond food service, the initiative seeks to connect consumers with the local maritime culture and ensure the future of the regional fishing industry by raising awareness about the importance of local fishermen and their work.
