Kit Harington stars in new ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ miniseries

A new four-part miniseries adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel, ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, has premiered on MGM+ and the BBC. Starring Kit Harington as Sydney Carton, the production also features François Civil as Charles Darnay and Mirren Mack as Lucie Manette.

Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, the story follows Lucie Manette as she discovers her father may still be alive in Paris after nearly two decades. The narrative centers on a complex love triangle between Lucie, Darnay, and the barrister Carton, as political tensions in France escalate.

This adaptation, directed by Richard Clark and Hong Khaou, is noted for modernizing the character development of Lucie Manette and expanding the romantic tension between the central trio. The series follows a weekly release schedule on Sundays, with new episodes arriving throughout September.
