Kit Harington's Dickens adaptation hits top charts on MGM+

The four-part BBC and MGM+ adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1859 novel ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, starring Kit Harington, has become a significant hit on the MGM+ streaming service in the United States.

According to FlixPatrol data, the series reached the number one spot in the U.S. for five days and currently holds the number two position on the platform's overall chart. It sits only behind the long-running series ‘From’. The production has successfully outperformed other recent MGM+ titles, such as the crime drama ‘The Westies’.

Directed by Daniel West, the miniseries is noted for its faithful approach to the source material, aiming to provide a dignified translation of the literary classic to the screen without excessive modernization. Harington, known for his interest in playing complex and tortured characters, portrays a central figure in this historical drama set during revolutionary times.
