Kitan Club to release mountain-themed frog capsule toys

Kitan Club is set to release the “Kaeru no Mori Kobo Buji Kaeru Strap II: Yamanosou-iro” series starting September 4, 2026. These capsule toys feature frog figurines equipped with hiking boots and backpacks, themed around mountain plants.

The series utilizes the Japanese wordplay where “kaeru” (frog) sounds like “kaeru” (to return), symbolizing the wish to “return home safely.” The new collection includes four varieties: Haimatsu, Ezousuyukisou, Holomui Ichigo, and Chidori Azami.

To enhance the outdoor aesthetic, the straps are made from “hosobiki,” a cord commonly used on hiking backpacks. Two of the models, Haimatsu and Ezousuyukisou, feature miniature compasses attached to their backpacks. Each figure measures approximately 49mm and will be available at capsule toy vending machines across Japan for 400 yen per play.
