Kitchen accidents reported in India and Argentina

Two separate incidents involving kitchen accidents and fires have been reported in India and Argentina.

In Vijayawada, India, 46-year-old Maddhi Sujatha died following a fatal accident while volunteering for the Annadanam community food program during Vinayaka Chavithi festivities. Security footage captured the moment Sujatha tripped while attempting to move a heavy metal container filled with boiling vegetables and lentils. She fell into the vessel, sustaining severe burns over much of her body. Despite immediate assistance from witnesses, she did not survive.

In Rosario, Argentina, a kitchen fire broke out at a bar located at the intersection of Maipú and Rioja. The fire, which originated in the kitchen hood—possibly due to accumulated grease—caused two female employees to suffer minor burns and smoke inhalation while attempting to extinguish the flames. Firefighters controlled the situation quickly, and while the kitchen sustained material damage, no structural damage occurred and the injured women were reported to be out of danger.
