Kitchen maintenance and equipment planning tips

Effective kitchen management involves both strategic equipment planning and efficient cleaning methods. When equipping a kitchen, it is recommended to prioritize needs based on household size, cooking habits, and available space. Planning should include measuring dimensions for water, electricity, and gas connections, as well as ensuring adequate clearance for appliance doors and drawers. Organizing the layout into three functional zones—storage, preparation, and cooking—can optimize workflow.

For cleaning, a method using steam can help remove stubborn grease from ovens without harsh chemicals. By placing a heat-resistant container with hot water inside a preheated oven (set between 100 and 120 degrees Celsius), the resulting steam softens accumulated fat and burnt residues. Once the oven cools, the loosened grime can be wiped away with a sponge or microfiber cloth. It is important to use a heat-resistant vessel rather than pouring water directly onto the oven floor.
