Kitchen maintenance tips for odors and cleanliness
Common kitchen odors and cleanliness issues can often be traced to overlooked maintenance tasks. In many households, persistent frying smells remain even after cleaning the visible metal grease filters of kitchen hoods. This occurs because the active charcoal filter, which is responsible for absorbing odor molecules, is often forgotten. While metal filters catch grease and are washable, the charcoal filter must be replaced once saturated to effectively neutralize smells.
Similarly, kitchen sink maintenance can be improved using white vinegar. The acetic acid in vinegar helps dissolve light limescale, soap films, and food grease, helping surfaces like stainless steel or ceramic regain their shine. While effective for reducing odors around drains and removing white water spots, it is not a substitute for heavy-duty disinfectants required after handling raw meat or fish.
