Warnings from CCTV highlight four common kitchen items that may pose significant risks to liver and kidney health due to heavy metal leaching and bacterial accumulation.

One major concern involves low-quality stainless steel cookware, such as industrial-grade 201 or 202 series. These products may contain high levels of manganese, lead, and nickel to reduce costs. When used at high temperatures or with acidic and salty foods, the alloy structure can corrode, allowing heavy metals to leach into food. According to the FDA, chronic absorption of these metals can lead to liver cell damage and destruction of renal tubule cells, potentially resulting in acute kidney failure.

Additionally, ceramic tableware with surface-painted patterns is identified as a risk. While some ceramics use underglaze techniques for protection, others may use surface painting that can expose users to toxins.
