Kite festivals scheduled for October in Braunschweig and Travemünde

Several kite festivals are scheduled to take place in Germany in October 2026.

In Braunschweig, the Drachenfest am Nußberg will be held on Sunday, October 11, from 10:00 to 18:00 at Prinz-Albrecht-Park. This free event features a variety of activities for families, including bouncy castles, face painting, and performances by magician Zeroch. A kite sales stall will also be available for those looking to purchase models or accessories.

In Travemünde, a kite festival will run from October 1 to October 4, 2026. The event features over 100 kites, including large-scale musical-themed kites shaped like Elvis Presley and David Bowie. Highlights include massive wind turbines, such as a 26-meter diameter bowl, and precision demonstrations by world champion pilots Tim Reus and Maxi Schlag. The festival also includes a night flight show on Saturday evening.
