Kitesurfing events scheduled for Brazil in 2026

Two major kitesurfing events are set to take place in Northeast Brazil in 2026, highlighting the region's growing sports tourism sector.

The GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup 2026 will be held in Itarema, Ceará, from October 21 to 24. The competition features a 25,000 euro prize pool and will utilize the area's consistent winds and calm lagoon waters. The event includes a dedicated athlete recovery area and a cultural fair.

Additionally, the Sertões Kitesurfe 2026 is scheduled for November 25 to 28, spanning the municipalities of Touros, Rio Grande do Norte, and Fortim, Ceará. The event has doubled its sponsorship, securing over 20 partners including BMW Motorrad, Vivo, and XP. This growth aligns with economic projections for the region, where the wind season in Ceará is expected to generate R$ 1.66 billion in movement in 2026.
