Kitsilano House: Contemporary residence designed in Vancouver

In the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, Canada, a new contemporary residence designed by Scott and Scott Architects has been completed. The home, known as Kitsilano House, was designed to balance privacy with a presence that is generous to the surrounding neighbourhood.

The structure consists of two distinct parts: a robust concrete base containing the living and dining areas, and a delicate timber cabin situated under a canopy of flowering trees. The upper floors feature two levels of timber clad in locally sourced Douglas fir, with flowering trees on the terrace providing a natural screen for the private bedrooms.
