Kitten survives 800-mile trip trapped in car bumper

A 10-week-old kitten, nicknamed ‘Jersey’, survived an 800-mile journey after becoming trapped in the bumper of a car in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The driver, Jadyn Sawyer, discovered the kitten after arriving at the University of Georgia in Athens when she noticed a paw protruding from the vehicle's undercarriage.

Following the discovery, university police contacted the rescue organization Cat Zip Alliance-Campus Cats. Rescuers noted that the extraction was complex, requiring mechanics to dismantle parts of the vehicle to safely remove the kitten from the undercarriage.

Veterinarians reported that the kitten was in good health despite the long trip, noting only a minor cold. The kitten has since been adopted by a new owner in Athens.
