Kittens Bichan and Miso recover from severe facial injuries

Bichan, a tiny kitten weighing 250 g, suffered extensive facial trauma that removed its nose and chin and left it unable to smell or eat. Veterinary staff placed a feeding tube, monitored its weight and introduced swallowing exercises. Within days the kitten gained weight, reaching over 1 kg, and began exploring its surroundings, showing steady progress toward a normal life.

Miso, a newborn stray found on a road in Georgia, USA, had a deep mandibular degloving wound that exposed the underlying tissue. Rescuer Erin and her daughter lifted the kitten to a veterinary clinic, where surgeons repaired the damage and performed a second operation to remove sutures. After intensive care, Miso regained strength, became highly active, and displayed a vibrant personality.

Both cats illustrate how prompt rescue and specialized veterinary care can turn seemingly fatal injuries into successful recoveries.
