Kitui County MCA arrested for alleged phone thefts in Nairobi

Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, a sitting Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in Kitui County, has been arrested in Nairobi’s Central Business District. Detectives from the Kamukunji Police Station apprehended Musyoka on Mfangano Street following intelligence linking him to three separate mobile phone theft incidents reported in August and September 2026.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stated that CCTV footage was instrumental in identifying the suspect. Additionally, the arrest revealed an outstanding warrant for Musyoka regarding a separate criminal case involving theft charges at the Makadara Law Courts, which stemmed from his failure to appear in court after being released on bond.

The DCI emphasized its commitment to law enforcement, stating, “No one is above the law,” and confirmed the suspect was in custody undergoing processing.
