Kiwi consumption linked to improved sleep quality

A recent scientific study published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that consuming kiwi before bedtime may help individuals fall asleep faster and achieve deeper sleep. Researchers found that adults who ate two kiwis before bed experienced a 42% reduction in the time taken to fall asleep, alongside improved overall sleep quality.

Health experts note that kiwi is high in serotonin, a brain chemical that regulates mood and sleep cycles, as well as antioxidants. While the fruit offers benefits such as high levels of Vitamin C, fiber, and potassium, experts from the NHS emphasize that dietary changes are not a magic solution and should be paired with healthy sleep hygiene, such as reducing screen time and maintaining consistent sleep schedules.

Other factors contributing to morning fatigue despite adequate sleep hours include poor sleep quality due to environmental disturbances, iron deficiency anemia, and thyroid disorders.
