Kiwi Jr. releases fourth studio album ‘Blowin’ Up’
Canadian indie rock quartet Kiwi Jr. has released their fourth studio album, titled ‘Blowin’ Up’. The record marks the band's longest gap between releases, following three albums in four years.
The new material is described as a more explosive and percussive evolution of their signature jangle pop sound. While maintaining their characteristic warmth, the album incorporates darker dimensions and more driving energy, exploring themes of frustration and ambition through Jeremy Gaudet’s lyrics.
Produced with contributions from various indie rock musicians, the album features collaborations with Graham Walsh of Holy Fuck, members of Protomartyr (Joe Casey and Greg Ahee), Margaux Bouchaudon, Kerri Maclellan of Alvvays, and Fred Thomas. These additions provide atmospheric elements such as synths, organs, and expanded rock instrumentation to the band's established style.
