Kiyoshi Hikawa celebrates 49th birthday with enka concert and tribute album

Japanese singer Kiyoshi Hikawa celebrated his 49th birthday on September 6, 2026, with a special concert at LINE CUBE Shibuya as part of his ‘KIINA’S LAND 2’ tour. During the performance, Hikawa expressed his commitment to continuing his musical career, stating, “I believe that now is when I am youngest.”

The concert featured a return to his enka roots, including his debut song “Hakone Hachiri no Hanjiro.” Hikawa also performed tracks from his newly released cover album, “Kiyoshi Hikawa Sings Hibari Misora,” which was released on September 2.

The album is a tribute to the legendary singer Hibari Misora, featuring both new recordings of classics like “Kawa no Nagare no Yo ni” and previously released tracks. Hikawa noted that he had previously been hesitant to cover Misora due to deep respect and a sense of being unready, but now feels capable of expressing the essence of her music through his own unique style.
