Kék Bolygó Foundation challenges Prime Minister's Office over dissolution
The Kék Bolygó Klímavédelmi Alapítvány (Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation), an organization associated with János Áder, has announced it is taking legal action against the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office. The foundation claims the decision made by the office, led by Bálint Ruff, is unlawful and has criticized the conduct of the government-appointed auditor, Ildikó Veres.
The legal dispute follows Prime Minister Péter Magyar's announcement via Facebook that the foundation, in its current form, will cease to exist on August 31. The Prime Minister's Office informed the public interest asset management foundation that the Hungarian state will take over its duties as of that date.
The foundation stated it has cooperated fully with the auditor, providing all requested documentation. It also noted that its board had intended to repay assets received under its public task status to the state with interest, aiming to continue operations as a foundation under the Civil Code. Representatives for the foundation were present at the Prime Minister's Office for a scheduled meeting when the dissolution was announced via video.
